Perspective of a service person:

Who does not know that?

Sunday afternoon, wonderful weather, time for a trip!

The bars are busy. The waitresses have their hands full. There are longer waiting times.

At the next table, an older couple develops a sophisticated battle plan in the presence of the waitress ("if you take the sausage platter, I'll order the cheese. Or would you prefer a schnitzel? What do you think?"). The waitress tries to keep her impatience under control. Because of course she has long since noticed the group of women two tables away.

She has been sitting there for ten minutes and wants to finally order. But first she would have to go to the table right next to it, which signaled a long time ago that he would like to pay.

And at the last table in their row, a family with whining children is already waving. Finally, the kitchen bell rang again because the ready meal for table 35 was supposed to reach the guests while it was still warm.

At peak times like this, there should always be ten waitresses at the start, but where do you get them from? Good staff is hard to come by, and anyway, who's going to pay for it?

The annoying fiddling with a pad and pen has already been replaced by the practical handheld devices (which are very similar to a mobile phone). From here, the order goes directly to the drinks counter and kitchen.

If a serving robot comes to the rescue, waiting times are shortened or even avoided, the staff is spared and the guests are made happy. (C.Rieger)
